I Centri per l'impiego (CPI) e gli Uffici per il Collocamento Mirato Disabili (UCMD) costituiscono articolazioni operativo-funzionali dell'Agenzia Regionale per le Politiche Attive del Lavoro - ARPAL Puglia. Queste strutture pubbliche coordinate dalle Regioni o dalle Province autonome, favoriscono l'incontro tra domanda e offerta e promuovono sul territorio interventi di politica attiva. Nell'ambito della Rete dei servizi per il lavoro, i CPI e gli UCMD garantiscono una serie integrata di interventi - definiti Livelli essenziali delle Prestazioni - utili a favorire l'occupazione, l'inserimento e il reinserimento lavorativo. Si rivolgono essenzialmente a cittadini disoccupati e stranieri, lavoratori beneficiari di forme di sostegno al reddito, imprese e datori di lavoro in cerca di personale.
The Centri per l'impiego- Public Employment Offices (CPI is the acronym in Italian, PES is the acronym in English) and the Uffici per il Collocamento Mirato Disabili - Compulsory Targeted Placement Offices (UCMD is the acronym in Italian and CTPO is the acronym in English ) represent the operational articulations of the Agenzia Regionale per le Politiche Attive del Lavoro - ARPAL Puglia, (the Labour Executing Agency of the Apulia Region) implementing labour policies in the regional territory. These public structures, coordinated by the Regions or their executing agencies in Italy, facilitate the matching of job supply and demand and promote active labour policy interventions. Within the framework of the Employment Services Network, the CPI and UCMD deliver an integrated series of interventions - defined Essential Levels of Performance (LEP is the acronym in Italian and ELP is the acronym in English) meant to promote employment, job placement, skilling and up-skilling, reintegration, coaching and orientation. They are mainly addressed to unemployed candidates or any jobseeker and worker benefiting from forms of income support on one hand and companies and employers looking for personnel on the other one.
The above-mentioned services are delivered within six territorial provincial units covering the whole region. The ARPAL Puglia Ambito Territoriale di Taranto is one of the six above-mentioned units, it includes the following 6 pes located respectively in the following towns, hence named after the towns: Castellaneta, Grottaglie, Manduria, Martina Franca, Massafra, Taranto.
